Celebrating Solar Schools

In light of the COVID-19 epidemic, we are preparing for an all-virtual National Solar Tour. You can participate by uploading your own open house photos or video!

Did you know that October is National Energy Awareness Month?

Join us on Thursday, Oct 1st for a special Solar for Schools day of virtual events organized in collaboration with Generation180’s Solar for all Schools campaign. Sign up below and we will share events, resources, and lesson plans with you throughout the month of October.

Spread the word about the National Solar Tour and share this flyer with your school community. Check out the Tour Resources page for more promotional materials.

Host a virtual solar open house!

We invite all solar schools to sign up now and host a virtual solar open house! By participating in the tour this fall, your school can showcase its clean energy leadership and help educate and inspire others to flip the switch to solar.

All schools that register as a host of a solar open house will be entered to win a solar educational kit (up to $375 value) from Generation180. The prize kit includes standards-based lesson plans and interactive classroom materials for 30 students.” One elementary school, middle school, and high school winner will be selected.

When you sign up to host an open house, we'll add your video or photos to the 2020 National Solar Tour virtual experience. Your email address will not be listed publicly.

Attend open houses & live virtual events

The National Solar Tour’s virtual solar experience (Sept. 28–Oct. 4) is open to the public and free to attend! Join us on Thursday, October 1st for a special Solar for Schools day of virtual events.

In addition to checking out virtual open houses anywhere in the country, you can join us for live virtual events all week. During these events, attendees will have a chance to connect with solar owners, ask questions, and learn about the benefits solar is bringing to homes, public buildings, and businesses around the nation.
